About David

David joined Gartlan Furey LLP as a Trainee Solicitor in 2006, qualifying in 2010.  He was made a Partner in 2019.

David is Head of the Lending and Corporate Teams.  He acts for a number of financial institutions, alternative lenders, corporate borrowers and Irish individuals, advising on a wide range of banking law matters such as facility/loan agreements and loan note instruments which can involve a diverse range of security documents together with title investigations of commercial and residential properties. He advises clients on regulatory and statutory requirements and the necessary actions to perfect security if required.

David also advises lenders on insolvency issues covering debt workouts, restructuring and security enforcement including pre-receivership negotiations and the appointment of receivers. He also advises receivers on the management and disposal of assets and properties.

On Corporate transactions David advises clients on matters such as company formations and re-organisations, business and share acquisitions and disposals, corporate finance, Constitutions and Shareholder Agreements.  He also acts in the establishment of General Partnerships (including Family Partnerships) and Limited Partnerships.

David is a tutor on the Banking Law and Business Law courses for the Law Society of Ireland Professional Practice courses.
